Last fall, I accepted a position with the Austin office of projekt202 — a high-growth Digital Experience Solution Provider. The General Manager and I had a series of great conversations about the business, our growth opportunities, and the industry, and I said “yes” to a Business Development leadership role. I’m energized by the work of projekt202 and the people in the company. I couldn’t be happier about my decision to join the company, and I wanted to share some of the reasons why.

Being Around Community of Creative is a Rush

Creatives, and creative technologists, are a heart-on-your-sleeve bunch. You always know how everyone is feeling, and there’s usually passion about every interaction. Hallway conversations and the inevitable late-Friday-afternoon, in-office cocktail sessions are captivating, the notes on the refrigerator are funny, the Slack channels are active and engaging, and the work itself is inspiring. I can’t help but feel more creative, as a result.

The Vision is Clear to Everyone

That’s awesome on two levels : the vision itself, as well as the fact that everyone knows it. projekt202 is the leader in applying experience strategy and observational insights to the development of mobile, cloud, web, and workplace software. The user is at the heart of the work of projekt202 — “Function follows empathy” and “Why would you build something that people won’t use” are key concepts that everyone in the company knows and lives. That vision informs every aspect of the work, from my first conversation with the client to the team’s delivery of the final experience.

Everything Matters

Every person in our company can easily see the connection from their work to the product being produced, and the client’s business opportunity it’s addressing. We address the business opportunities present in every organization — in a very cool way. Every action feels like it means something — to a client, to the business, and to the person performing the action. That makes the job of the client’s touchpoint (me) that much easier — when we’re delivering quality work that matters.

Thanks for abiding my enthusiasm. Let me know if this sparks a thought, or an interest in a conversation.
