projekt202 Partner Nominated for Excellence in Community Innovation
projekt202 is proud to partner with the WTIA Workforce Institute to design and build the site for Apprenti, the first-of-its-kind registered tech apprenticeship program. Now, the program is being recognized for its efforts to make the world a better place through technology.
Apprenti is nominated in the inaugural Geeks Give Back category in the 2017 GeekWire Awards. The honor recognizes organizations and members of the community who are putting their time and talent toward finding innovative solutions to societal challenges.
Launched in September 2016 in Seattle, Apprenti focuses on recruiting underrepresented groups -- including women, minorities and veterans -- and helping them bridge the skills and diversity gap to receive trained pathways into Washington State’s high-wage tech sector. Apprenti is the only tech apprenticeship accredited by the State of Washington and a first of its kind for the industry.
projekt202 Chief Technology Officer Rob Pierry said, "We love it when the projekt202 team is able to help organizations succeed, especially when they’re focused on giving back to our community like WTIA Workforce is."
All winners of the 2017 GeekWire Awards will be announced on May 4 at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle.
