Translating your designs into business opportunities is critical to making them happen. To help designers ensure opportunities aren't lost in translation, projekt202 Experience Researcher Jannis Hegenwald will present "Business Strategy 101 for Designers" on Wednesday, Nov. 9, as part of Austin Design Week.
The presentation will focus on key elements of business strategy and ways to successfully employ them in day-to-day design work. It will cover topics such as profit models, reframing, qualitative and quantitative thinking, prioritization, and trade-offs.
"It's become increasingly difficult to understand and do strategy well, because the practice is cluttered with lofty jargon, redundant frameworks and vague definitions," said Jannis. "To me, the challenge lies in clarifying what the core of strategy is. If we're able to do that as a community, we can make it more accessible and enable designers to contribute to better strategy with their crafts and talents."
