DALLAS, TEXAS – MAY 1, 2013 projekt202, a design-led technology services firm, announced today that Erik Cottrell has joined projekt202 as General Manager of the company’s Austin office. While working for a leading financial services firm, Erik’s and his team engaged projekt202 to help redesign their flagship, client-facing platform.
“projekt202 was able to create a design based our clients’ needs,” said Erik Cottrell. “The result was a powerful, intuitive solution that was part software and part experience. The experience was powerful enough to convince me that I needed to be a part of projekt202, especially once I found out that projekt202 had extended their offerings to assist with development work after they had completed design work. I wanted to be a part of a team that consistently delivered innovative, user-centered solutions for clients on a daily basis.”
With over twenty years of experience in building software, Erik’s passion for great user interface and user experience was cultivated as a product manager at the Silicon Valley startup NetObjects. Following his time at NetObjects, Erik was recruited to join Adobe Systems, co-founded his own web-based trading research and analysis company, and was Director of Active Trader Product Management at Charles Schwab. Most recently, Erik was the Chief Product Officer at BancVue in Austin.
“We are passionate about helping our clients design, develop, and bring to makert software experiences that simplify life, spark innovation, and ultimately make the world a better place,” said Peter Eckert, projekt202’s Chief Experience Officer. “Having a former client join our team is extremely validating. Erik brings a unique perspective that he can share with our current and future clients. I’m thrilled to have him as part of the projekt202 team.”
